ALFIE has been with us for such a long time. He is quite a self contained old chap and isn’t an “in your face” dog. He doesn’t always get up to say hello when people visit the kennels - but that’s Alfie.
He was in the kennels for two years before he was offered a home. Alfie went out to a home where he lived with a Greyhound bitch quite happily.
He isn't good with small dogs and other furries, so we told the owner that he needed to be muzzled when he was out and things were fine for almost a year.
Unfortunately, against advice given, his owner decided to take him out unmuzzled and he grabbed a neighbour’s cat and killed it.
He was back in the kennels within days - poor old dog. He had no idea he had done anything wrong and took a long time to settle back into kennel life. It was so unfair.
Alfie has been back with us for 13 months - he is now nine and a half years old.
He would settle with a quiet Greyhound girl - he has been kenneled with several while with us.
He needs someone who understands that he likes his own space sometimes and needs to be muzzled on walks. He doesn’t look for trouble and isn’t a mischief maker.
We are desperate for Alfie to have his own sofa and not to spend another winter in kennels - he deserves more before he gets any older.
He would benefit from an experienced Greyhound owner who understands the breed. He is a fantastic dog who just needs a second chance.
If you are the special person who can offer him all of this, please get in touch for more information.
